National Hero Tour (ANITKABIR)
“One day i will die, but the republic will live forever.” said Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. The republic of Turkey has been living for a century. The founder of her was Atatürk.
He was an Ankara-lover like us. He paid so much for Ankara after declaring Ankara as new capital city despite of İstanbul’s significance on nation’s minds.
His thoughts and ideas are still effective in both politics and daily life. In this tour I will not mention about Atatürk and politics details. That would be very boring. The one’s who wonder to learn about these details could visit following sites before getting into my tour;

In this 4 hour tour i will tell you about Atatürk’s influence on daily life. We will try to focus on question “how could a person still have affect on people’s life after 80 years?”
During we walk through Road of Lions -the entrance- we will start with talking about milestones of his life. Than quickly skip to his struggle on the way to foundation of Turkish republic in 1920s.
While we look at his tomb (Hall of Honour) in circumstances of death silence , we will find out whether he was a dictator or not. That is one of the interesting discussion about him these days.
After all, next to mausoleum, we will have a look at his personal items, his wardrobe, and some of the gifts presented in the museum. Atatürk’s medals, decorations and some personal items donated to the museum by his adopted children are deserved to take a look.
At the end of the tour we will have an opportunity to get some tea and have a little more conversation about daily speculations about him. That will be very interesting because there is no one else in this world such a man who is still adored at the same time discussed behind by his own people.
If you get hungry after this tour , i will take you to Atatürk Forest Farm. You will have a chance to taste very famous national cuisine called “Kokoreç”. During the meal i will tell you about Atatürk’s dream of forestation and agricultural reforms in that period.
